Japan Weather Association and Spectee jointly developed a technology to support road management using AI Analysis of videos
Japan Weather Association and Spectee jointly developed the real-time delivery of disaster prevention information through AI analysis of images taken from SNS and weather cameras.
Disaster prevention information obtained through the AI analysis of images will be provided to road maintenance companies, local governments, and other business entities that require such support.
Up till now, quantitative information for determining winter road condition and events that impact our daily life is mostly dependent on human eye judgement or require expensive measuring equipment. Through this joint development, the two companies will develop technologies to obtain information such as rain-snow distinction, snow/road condition, snowstorm occurrence, visibility, etc., through AI analysis of video footages.
Spectee was proudly awarded "Best of 2017 Partner Videos" by the internationally renowned news network Associated Press (AP).
Carefully curated by our journalist team, 4 videos, including "Sandstorm Prevails Villages in Sudan" in June 2017 and "Mass Shooting in Las Vegas" in September 2017, were chosen as "Best of 2017 Partner Videos" based on the reporting value of the provided content and their impacts on international awareness. They were brought to audience around the world through AP on news media like CNN and New York Times.
Although image-sharpening technology is not new to the industry, it had been deemed ineffective in detecting blurred words like those at the corner of a picture, but not anymore.
In collaboration with Taito City Tourism Board, Spectee's patented technology will assist the security management of the Sumida River Fireworks Festival 2017, one of the largest and most famous fireworks festivals of Tokyo. Our image analysis and natural-language processing AI technology is going to examine real-time SNS data to surveil potential happenings during the festival such as accidents, traffics and weather changes. We are proud to be the pioneer to integrate SNS data with security control through AI technology for the first time ever in the history of Japan.
The Associated Press today announced a content collaboration with Spectee, the Tokyo-based online news agency that specializes in curating and publishing user-generated content in real time.
All AP Video Hub clients will be able to view Spectee’s video news content, which includes real-time news and entertainment events in Japan and worldwide. This adds a new dimension to the existing UGC already available through Video Hub.
By using artificial intelligence with their patented technologies, Spectee is able to considerably reduce the time taken to analyze and sort user-generated video and images on social media. All content is verified, with licenses acquired for publishing by broadcasters and digital publishers.
Spectee's two patent applications for deep learning technologies have been approved. These new technologies will enable an automatic news script generation of any incidents, accidents, natural disaster, etc. through AI evaluating SNS input.
